I Made the Right Choice for Me!

Hey Everyone!

How exciting is it that now we all know where we are going this fall?! For me it is very exciting, especially now when you ask someone where they are going, you will get the answer, not the usual “Well, it’s between this one and this one”. I don’t know about the rest of you New Hampshire kids, but as a senior coming back from vacation this week, I felt like last week was such a tease; I felt like it was summer already!

So over vacation I did an official tour of the school I will be attending this fall. It was great to finally see the whole campus - the dorm where I will live, the athletic facility, and the different academic buildings that I would have classes in. However, the best part was the next day when I attended a Direct Marketing class on campus.  It was great – I got to get a feel of what it actually feels like to be in a college style learning environment. All I have to say was that I LOVED IT! When I came into the class, the teacher welcomed me and introduced me. Everyone was so nice and happy to hear that I chose their school to come to in the fall.

The particular class was a class of seniors – they were presenting group projects on a current online career finding tool that was available at the school. The project was semester-long, and it was awesome to see presentations that looked so real and professional. I see myself now as a high school senior and I could see how much I will grow to be that creative in the next 4 years. My favorite part was at the end when they asked my opinion about some of the topics since I would be an incoming freshman, and it felt so cool to become part of the class and participate.

So I have picked my school, made my deposit, toured the school, attended a class, I feel like I’m set! Now we all just have to get through this last month or so until graduation. I don’t know about you but I feel like it is just dragging on!

Waiting and waiting…
Lauryn

Making the decision about where to go to school is important, and also a relief as well... Best of luck on your future studies and enjoy the remainder of your senior year!

    Hey Lauryn-
Hey great job on the blog again! CONGRATS on picking your college.  I know it must have been hard, I was at that same crossroad as well, but did the same thing. Seeing the campus for a second time, eating in the café, seeing a class, but also finding out they have a surf club totally sold me...Well, good luck next year and great job on your blog this year.

    Later-
