Happy Holidays from Joe College

The college counselors and guest contributors to the Joe College blog would like to wish you all a safe and joyous Holiday Season. It can sometimes be stressful leading up to the Holidays, but hopefully this upcoming week is a time of rest and relaxation for you and your family.

Although this post is going to be short, it wouldn’t be a Joe College blog without a quick college tip. Here it is:

Remember to find out what the FAFSA deadline is for each school you are applying to. The 2010-2011 FAFSA becomes available after January 1st and you want to make sure you file it before your earliest deadline. Although the FAFSA will ask for 2009 tax information, remember that you can file the form with estimate information based on 2008 taxes and/or your 2009 W2’s. As always, if you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to file the FAFSA, feel free to call the Center for College Planning at 1.888.7.GRADUATE x119.

And for you juniors, be sure to check out www.destinationcollege.com during the first weeks of January to learn about NH's premier college planning event. It will be taking place at Southern New Hampshire University on March 27. Register early!

Happy Holidays,

Rich
