I’ve Picked the Schools I’m Applying To!
So I have decided on my 4 top schools that I am going to apply to. The fun part is over – I liked searching for schools that best fit me and are what I am looking for in a school. I have completed most of the applications, and really all that is left is the dreaded part…the college essay.
My top school, College A is amazing; it’s beautiful, small, and far enough away from home that I get the feel that I am on my own. It has great internship opportunities that will get me headed in the direction of my career choice. This is definitely more of a reach school for me, but I know I am capable of getting in. The upside to this school is that I have been on a campus tour and have met with the lacrosse coach as well.
However, College B, my second choice, is a little farther north and a bit colder, but it also has a great business program. It’s among the top third of business schools in America and it too offers great internship opportunities as well as work with many of the prestigious businesses around the city. I love the area in which the school is located; however, I have not been on a visit yet. But I soon hope to, and I want to meet with the lacrosse coach as well.
Finding the college that best fits you can be tough. That’s why it’s so important to get out there and explore. Even in your busy schedule, when it starts to slow down, get onto college campuses and start narrowing down your choices. Talk with the admissions office staff and athletic coaches if you are interested in a school, and get any questions you may have answered. Admissions people are more than happy to answer your questions.
As far as my college essay, I’m still working on it. But don’t get hyped up over it, most of it is talking about yourself, your interests, your goals. The good news is after the first essay is written, the others are much easier because you can cut and paste from the first essay! (If you need help on writing your essay, click here for help!)
Happy with my college choices,
Lauryn
