JUNIOR YEAR
Fall Term:
• Identify your strongest subjects in school and think about possible fields you may want to study.
• Take the PSAT/NMSQT to practice for SATs.
• Use available resources in your school, guidance office, the Center for College Planning, and the internet to start making a list of schools that might be a good fit for you.
Spring Term:
• Start preparing for the spring SAT/ACT & register online.
• Use your long weekends and school vacations to start visiting some schools on your list.
• Take the SAT or ACT.
Summer:
• Make an appt. to sit down with your guidance counselor or a Center for College Planning counselor to go over what your plan is for applying to colleges, and to help familiarize you with available sources for financial aid.
• Take any chance you get to become a well-rounded student in your community (internships, volunteer, etc.).
• Visit more schools on your list.
• Talk to your parents about what schools you are financially able to attend.
SENIOR YEAR
Fall Term:
• Register at www.nh93.com for scholarships.
• Register and take the SAT or ACT again.
• Narrow down your list of schools.

Spring Term:
• After January 1st, start filling your required FAFSA form, as well as any other financial aid forms required specifically by the schools you are looking at.
• Check out the NH Charitable Foundation at www.nhcf.org, as well as other scholarship programs.
• WATCH APPLICATION DEADLINES! Always send your application early – keep a spreadsheet of when materials and applications are due at every college you are applying to so you won’t be late.
• Wait for acceptance and award letters.
• Visit schools again if you are having a hard time deciding which one is the best fit for you.
• Before May 1st you can give yourself a job well done and pick the school that fits you best!
Planning it all out,
