STAR Day @ NHTI

Are you a foster youth? A youth-in-care? Do you know such a youth? Then plan to join us at “STAR Day at NHTI” on Saturday, May 9 at Concord’s New Hampshire Technical Institute.

STAR stands for Students Transitioning and Achieving Results. It is a new initiative started this year in collaboration with NH’s Division of Children, Youth, and Family (DCYF) focusing on assisting foster youth and youth-in-care within New Hampshire. The Center for College Planning’s own Angela Nuzzi has been at the forefront of getting this program going with the help of a one-year grant the CCP received from the Collegeboard.

The STAR Day program is for current or former DCYF/DJJS students, parents, guardians, and caseworkers. The day will feature workshops, guest speakers, and a mini college fair focusing on the needs of students between 7-12th grade. Scholarships and raffle prizes will be awarded as well. The day begins at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 2:45 p.m.

If you or anyone you know are a part of the participating agencies feel free to visit our website to register. Register by clicking on the STAR logo.
