Destination College Announcement
|
Now is the time of year that high school seniors are finishing up the college application process and filing their FAFSA form; while high school juniors are just starting to think about their college plans! Juniors will be searching for schools that are the “right” fit, touring campuses, and receiving the mountains of college marketing materials which will fill their mailbox before they know it! One thing high school juniors and their parents should be doing is registering for Destination College. This spectacular event, held on Saturday, March 28 at Southern New Hampshire University, is the premier college event for the state’s juniors and their parents!

Over 1500 students and parents will join us this year as Destination College celebrates 10 years of helping families prepare for college by attending workshops on the college process and experience. Some of this year’s workshops include: SAT 101: Know The Score (what you need to know about the SAT), The Write Stuff (all about college essay writing), The OMG of Credit & Debit (personal finance information), Consider a Two Year Degree, and First in the Family: Advice for First-Generation College Students. Along with the many workshops offered at Destination College, there is a college fair with representatives from NH colleges and universities. Students can actually meet the professionals who may read their college application and essay in the fall. This FREE event will be hosted at Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday, March 28th. Register today! We are looking forward to meeting you! HEY SENIORS – HERE’S A SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU! What do you need to do to win? All you have to do is be a college senior and write a 10 minute speech about your college planning and admissions process. The grand prize winner of the contest gets to deliver their speech as a Keynote address at Destination College, and their essay will be featured in the 2009-2010 edition of the New Hampshire Next Magazine. Get your speech ready now because the deadline to enter is February 8th! 2009! For more information click here.

My mom and I went to Destination College last year - and it totally rocked. I got some great information and saw a bunch of colleges at the college fair.
